Joy to the World (I Guess) It’s only weeks away New Year’s coming fast Writing resolutions we know will never last Listen more, talk less Joy to the world I guess Jimmy Stewart says he’ll lasso the moon Popcorn’s almost done we’ll both be crying soon Laugh more, fight less Joy to the world I guess Happy whatever Merry you and I Let’s celebrate together tonight Folks are getting drunk bite your tounge and smile After auld lang syne you wont see them for a while Give more, ask less Joy to the world I guess Happy whatever Merry you and I Let’s celebrate together tonight Holiday’s are hard missing those who’ve gone They hide in snowy shadows in the moonlight on the lawn We try out best Joy to the world, Joy to the word I guess Happy whatever Merry you and I Let’s celebrate together tonight Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind Should auld acquaintance be forgot and auld lang syne

Bad Medicine 03:07
Bad Medicine Hands on the wheel watched the traffic move Ran it over and over again in your head Find time on your own while the city sleeps History lifting like cobblestones Argument played through a megaphone She led ,you followed, you left her, you coward Parked up where you could see the Clydeport crane Ran it over and over again in your head You hope that your thoughts and the world will end Or swallowed by the river you’ll be pushed out to sea Pride makes us do stupid things It’s unkind bad medicine Hands on the wheel watched the traffic move Ran it over and over again in your head Every word that you said was a fiction, Backed up in anger And why are you here in car by the river No closer to being forgiven Pride makes us do stupid things It’s unkind bad medicine Parked up where you could see the Clydeport crane Ran it over and over again in your head And you know that you shouldn’t say those things But you did and you can’t take them back Pride makes us do stupid things It’s unkind bad medicine

Kilimanjaro 04:21
Kilimanjaro We said we’d climb Kilimanjaro Send our postcards from the top No compromise, beg steal or borrow Never stop, never stop, no We said we fly to New York City Climb the height of the Empire State From the bow of the Long Island ferry Fade away, fade away Older than we look Younger than we’ll ever be again Time is all it took In the end We’re gonna get a 15 year mortgage Once your boss get’s his head out of his ass With a little luck we’ll have a couple of babies The days are long but by the years go fast CHORUS Smiling big in New York City In a photo framed upon out daughter’s wall She scattered us on Kilimanjaro It took a while but we got there after all CHORUS

Option to Buy Everyone kicks the tyres Everyone samples the goods Some folks even start With the last page of the book So what’s with all the rush To get that old knot tied When we can always rent With the option to buy You’ve ate that piece of fruit Took it and never paid You scored a second scoop While the manager’s away You don’t have to worry Let me tell you why You can always rent with the option to buy They say the best things in life are free So why oh why would you marry me A rolling contract not tied in We’ll be just as happy living in sin The Ball’s not too heavy The chain’s not too tight We can always rent With the option to buy You would if you could don’t lie Let me tell you why We can always rent With the option to buy

Filthy Jokes 02:51
Filthy Jokes Your Mom and Dad were happy and frankly so was I You’d live alone forever TV dinners till you die So last night when you told me I swear I almost choked Sounds like finally you’ve found someone To laugh at all your filthy, filthy jokes It’s great to see you glowing contented to the bone Dripping with affection your heart has found its home Now the bells are ringing You’ve bought a gown and coat Finally you’ve found someone To laugh at all your filthy filthy jokes The one about the pilot, the one about the cat Don’t even get me started on those damned aristocrats I guess we learned our lesson of course you came around You just needed practice with every girl in town Now our prayers are answered and with this one last stroke Finally you’ve found someone You locked it down you proved us wrong I can’t believe I wrote this song, everybody sing along Finally you ‘ve found someone To laugh at all your filthy filthy jokes

about

A transatlantic collaboration for the modern age.

ON TOUR IN THE UK from 23rd Feb-11th March visit www.rebeccaloebe.com/tour for more details

Rebecca Loebe and Findlay Napier met on an EFDSS songwriting retreat in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. "Sometimes when you get thrown into a co-write sessions things just click." Says Napier, "This was one of those times." Over the last 18 months they have written together down the line from Loebe's base in Austin, Texas and in Findlay's Glasgow flat when Rebecca was touring the UK.

An award-winning songwriter, Loebe is a non-stop touring machine, averaging 200 performances per year for the last decade. Along the way, she has honed her voice as one of the Americana music scene's most exciting new songwriters and earned a place on Alternate Root Magazine's annual listing of The Top 10 Female Singers in America. She recently released her fourth full-length studio album Blink, which reunites her with producer Will Robertson for their first collaboration since 2010's Americana Top 40 Album, Mystery Prize, which landed on many year-end lists including the Americana Music Association's Top 100 Albums of the Year.

As defined in the title of his remarkable 2015 solo debut VIP: Very Interesting Persons (No.2 in the Daily Telegraph's top dozen folk albums that year), Scottish singer-songwriter Napier categorically commands musical VIP status.

Findlay has now turned those same supreme songwriting and storytelling gifts, allied with magpie-minded imagination and truly magnificent vocals, to his adoptive home town, on VIP's hotly anticipated follow-up, Glasgow.

Napier Press

"Songcraft and wit in the Difford & Tilbrook tradition" (Sunday Herald)

"Michael Marra meets Elvis Costello. . . Napier oozes class" (Folk Radio UK)

"A beautiful amalgam of Scottish soul, funk and folk" (Irish American Times)

Loebe Press

"Loebe's voice is breathtakingly beautiful, delightful and superb." (Randy Radic, Huffington Post)

"Loebe does not only have an extraordinary voice, she is indeed a technically brilliant singer who does not focus on her skills. It's about the song." (Radio Bremen, Germany)

"This is Rebecca Loebe and she is just hot stuff as far as I'm concerned... Absolutely stellar in my book." (John Aielli, KUTX Austin)
